Reports: ECB's 5-member delegation to visit Pakistan to take stock of arrangements

In the latest development, a five-member security team of the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will travel to Pakistan on July 17 in order to review the security conditions and the state of the venues ahead of the 'Three Lions' tour of the Asian nation.

According to a report published in news agency PTI, a delegation consisting of cricket operations officials, security experts and cricketers association representatives will be visiting potential venues like Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

"The delegation which includes two cricket operations officials, two security experts and a representative of their professional cricketers association will be visiting Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi," a senior official of the PCB was quoted as saying by PTI.

The official further added that it is a part of a routine visit ahead of a tour

"The delegation will visit the venues, and team hotels and also meet with security officials to discuss plans for the England team's visit," he stated.

England's men's team will travel to Pakistan to play 7 T20Is and three ICC WTC Tests later this winter.

England haven't toured Pakistan since 2006

For the uninitiated, England were due to travel to the Asian nation for 5 T20Is last October but the tour was eventually postponed by the ECB citing security threats.

Few months later, former ECB head Tom Harrison travelled to Pakistan to meet his PCB counterparts and following the discussion between the two parties, it was decided that England will play 2 more T20Is apart from the 5 that they were originally scheduled when they take the trip to the country this winter.
