Virat Kohli missed the first ODI vs England at Pune. However as far as latest reports are concerned, the star batter is fit and all set to play in the second match of the series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

Much to the concern of the Indian fans, Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team stated during the toss of the first ODI, that Kohli would not be playing the game. Apparently, Kohli developed an issue with his knee on the eve of the first ODI and hence could not participate in the game. However, the Indian team played well as a team and won the match to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Batting Coach Confirms Kohli's Fitness

As per the latest reports by Sports Express, the batting coach of India, Shitanshu Kotak, has confirmed that the star Indian batter is fit and all set to play in the second ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.

If these reports are correct then it is expected that Kohli will return and take up his favourite number three spot in the batting line-up. The Indian management will have to make a few changes in their combination to accommodate the star player.

This might spell danger for some one line Yashasvi Jaiswal or KL Rahul, who could be dropped to include Kohli in the playing XI. It will be interesting to see what changes India make, but the Indian fans will be happy that one of their biggest stars will be back and would get the game time needed ahead of an important tournament like the Champions Trophy 2025.
