In an interesting decision from the All-India Selection Committee, Mohammed Siraj has been drafted in as a replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing series against South Africa.

Bumrah had not played the first T20I against South Africa as the pacer complained of a back pain. Later it was found that he suffered from stress fracture on his back and will miss the remainder of the series against South Africa and the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

Bumrah will head back to the National Cricket Academy, where the doctors will assess his condition.

Siraj is currently playing for Warwickshire in the County Championship and will fly back to India for the remainder of the T20Is. He has blown hot and cold for India recently and will look to make the most of this opportunity.

Siraj's last T20I game for India goes back in February against Sri Lanka. He was then eventually dropped from the T20I side due to his poor performance.
