Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf is looking forward to unleash his BBL experience in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. The cricketer plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Australian league, with the team’s home base being the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Notably, the venue will be hosting Pakistan’s opening T20 World Cup match against India on October 23, which also marks the first fixture of the tournament’s Group B segment.

Haris Rauf says he is ready to face India

The 28-year-old, currently in Pakistan for their home series against England, recently said that he has already started making plans for the India game. The cricketer expressed his excitement over the choice of venue for the high-profile clash, since he is accustomed with the playing conditions on offer. He said:

“For the upcoming World Cup match, I'm very happy because it is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It is my home ground because I play for the Melbourne Stars, and I have an idea of how the conditions play out there. I've already started planning on how I would bowl against India.”

The speed demon also highlighted the intensity of an India-Pakistan encounter, especially in an ICC event. He described matches between the two nations as “high pressure” ones where he will be looking to give his best.

“The match between India and Pakistan is always a high-pressure game. In the World Cup last year, I was feeling so much pressure. But in the past two matches in the Asia Cup, I didn't feel much of it because I knew I just had to give my best.”
