The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most competitive and popular cricket league in the world and every cricket fan and former cricketer has developed a relation with the tournament over the years. Mithali Raj, the former India Women's team skipper is no different and in a recent Podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, the legendary batter opened up on her favourite IPL team.
The host Ranveer Allahbadia asked Mithali whether she is a fan of Royal Challengers Bengaluru or not. RCB is one of the most popular teams and Ranveer himself is an RCB fan, so he asked Mithali too, but she replied that her favourite team is Sunrisers Hyderabad. She added that sometimes the team does not do well, but it is her state team so she supports SRH whole-heartedly.
Mithali Raj - A Legend Of The Game
Mithali Raj retired from the game after the 2022 Women's World Cup, and she is one of the finest cricketers to play the game. She scored 7805 runs in Women ODIs with an average of 50.68 and seven hundreds in it. She also had a Test century under her belt and was the pillar of the Indian batting line-up for more than a decade.
Her performances have inspired generations of women cricketers over the years, and recently a movie starring Taapsee Pannu was also released, highlighting the struggles and journey of Mithali Raj over the years. She is currently doing commentary and was also Gujarat Giants mentor during the WPL 2024.
