The CSK-RR game at the Chepauk seems to be going against the home team right now as their middle order has failed to deliver against the class of RR spinners. Rayudu who came into bat at number 6 as an Impact Player replacing Sisanda Magala in the side departed on just a run in his second delivery to make things difficult for CSK in this run-chase.

At the time of writing, CSK have also lost Conway who was batting well on fifty and now have MS Dhoni and Jadeja in the crease with CSK still needing 54 off 18 balls.

CSK started off the chase positively despite losing Gaikwad early with Conway and Rahane notching up a 68-run stand. However, the dangerous spin-trio of RR soon came into act as they ran through CSK’s middle order with Ashwin and Chahal picking two wickets each and Zampa getting rid of Moeen Ali.

Conway batted well for his fifty but departed at the end of 15th over to put the onus on Dhoni and Jadeja to take CSK over the line in front of their passionate home crowd.

This game was always going to be a battle between CSK’s spinners and RR spinners and it seemed that RR have won that battle at the moment.

The stage though now is beautifully set for a vintage MSD finish. Can Dhoni finish it off in style? Let’s find out…
