CSK have 72 per cent winning rate at Chepauk and they somehow, always manage to find a way to end on the right side of the result at their own backyard. They are now up against RR in their second home game of IPL 2023 and the game seems to be moving towards an interesting finish with match right in balance.

RR got to 175 in the first innings thanks to another fifty by the prolific Jos Buttler. In reply though, CSK lost the in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad early in the third over as Sandeep Sharma got the better of him. However, Rahane walked out with some great intent at number 3 again, unleashing his version 2.0 as he played some delightful shots to get going. Conway, at the other end, struggled at the start but got into his groove eventually as the duo notched up a 68-run second wicket stand.

However, just went CSK seemed to be inching ahead in the game, Chennai's own homeboy, Ashwin came back to dismiss Rahane and Dube in the 10th and 12th over respectively to make it an even contest again. Rahane departed on a well-made 31 of 19 balls and at the time of writing, CSK are 93-3 at the end of 12 overs. They need 83 more in 54 balls with Conway batting on 40 and Moeen Ali alongside him.

We have seen some thrillers in the last few days and we can expect this one to also go right down to the wire.

The pitch is helping spinners a bit and with RR having three quality spinners in their ranks, they would feel that they are in with a chance. Let’s see how things unfold…
