Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi's son, Hassan Eisakhil, and Usman Shinwari, who is Rashid Khan’s nephew, are set to open the batting for their nation in the upcoming U19 World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to be played in South Africa starting from Friday, January 19.

Notably, the U19 World Cup was initially slated for Sri Lanka; however, following an ICC ban due to government interference, South Africa was awarded the hosting rights. Sixteen teams will compete for the coveted trophy over a span of 23 days.

Nabi marked his international debut on April 19, 2009, when Eisakhil was a mere three years old. As the most capped player for the national side, Nabi kicked off his top-level career with a Player-of-the-Match performance in his first game.

Speaking of Eisakhil's success, Nabi expressed his interest in playing alongside him for the national team. Here’s what Mohammad Nabi had said: "I will try to play a few more years for Afghanistan, and a few more years in leagues too. Hassan will grow more, and hopefully play Under 19s. If he has the ability to play for the national team, then hopefully he will play for the national team."

In the recent three-match T20I series against India, Mohammad Nabi exhibited good form, even though India completed a clean sweep. Afghanistan, however, put up a strong fight against India in the third and final T20I at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

The only anticipation for both the son of Mohammad Nabi and the nephew of Rashid Khan, the spin maestro of Afghanistan, is that they enjoy success on par with their accomplished parents and go on to play for the national side in the near future.
