Durban Super Giants have secured the services of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis as a wild-card replacement for Nicholas Pooran, who is departing for the ILT20 in Dubai.

During his stint with the Super Giants in SA20, Pooran made a notable impact, scoring a total of 86 runs in three innings at an average of 43 and a staggering strike rate of 160.

His standout performance was against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, where he played an unbeaten innings of 60 from 31 balls. He put on a 100-run partnership with J.J. Smuts and an unbeaten 40-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen.

Stoinis, with 57 T20 Internationals (T20Is) in his track record, comes with extensive experience in the format. Overall, he has scored 5198 runs in 250 T20 matches, with the highest score of unbeaten 147 runs.

Stoinis is no slouch in the bowling department either, having picked up 108 wickets in 145 T20 innings. His all-around prowess aims to seamlessly fill the gap left by Nicholas Pooran for Durban Super Giants.

Here it is worth mentioning that both Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran don the colours of Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, a franchise under the same ownership as Durban Super Giants.

As for the team, the Keshav Maharaj-led side are off to a sensational start in their tournament campaign, having won all three matches they played so far and claiming the top position in the points table.
