In the latest development, Afghanistan superstar, Rashid Khan has been re-appointed as the captain of the Mumbai Indians Cape Town, the team in the SA20 competition. Rashid was the skipper of the team in the first season of the tournament, but he missed the second season due to an injury.

Under his guidance, MI Cape Town finished at the bottom of the points table, despite boasting a strong squad.

MI boosted with Rashid’s arrival

Last season, the Mumbai Indians team missed Rashid’s services as he was a vital cog in their bowling lineup. Unlike the Indian Premier League side, Mumbai Indians, the MI Cape Town has endured a rocky start to their SA20 campaigns.

In the last two seasons, they finished at the bottom and will look to do better with the arrival of Rashid Khan. He is a brilliant leader and has been instrumental in the recent success of the Afghanistan side.

Rashid to lead team full of superstars

Rashid Khan will have the responsibility to lead an assembled side filled with superstars. The Cape Town team have the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Dewald Brevis in their side, alongside the experienced players like Ben Stokes and Trent Boult.

The team's bowling will be instrumental in MI's success as Rashid, alongside Boult, Kagiso Rabada and RCB superstar, Nuwan Thushara will have the responsibility to steer the side to a title win.

The batting looks a bit fragile, but the captain and the exciting bowling lineup more than makes up for it. The third season of the SA20 will commence from January 9 as the teams will fight it hard to win the coveted trophy.
