The wait is over as the Vijay Hazare Trophy is just around the corner and the prestigious tournament is set to begin from December 21. With the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) done and dusted, the Indian domestic teams will shift their focus towards the coveted 50-over competition.

A total of 38 teams will participate with 135 matches to take place in the competition. The tournament's excitement level has reached its peak because several big IPL players will also take part in the tournament this season. Today's focus will be on the Chennai Super Kings and 3 of their big players, who are likely to shine in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25.

3) Rahul Tripathi

The latest acquisition of the Chennai Super Kings team, Rahul Tripathi will be one of the big names to keep an eye on during the VHT 2024-25. An exceptional batter when on song, Tripathi's form will be the factor which could decide Goa's fate in the competition.

He wasn't at his best in the just concluded SMAT 2024, but the explosive batter will hope to deliver the goods in the 50-over VHT, a format where he'll generally thrive.

One of the stars of Mumbai team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Shivam Dube will once again be the X-factor for the Shreyas Iyer led team in Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is likely to bat at number 4, and the CSK batter can fulfil the dual role with ease.

If needed, he can consolidate and play according to the situation and can also be the chief aggressor if the team requires him to fulfil the need. Dube's power game on flat pitches will also be a crucial factor and thus, he will be the most important player for Mumbai.
