The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association has reportedly unveiled their squad for the upcoming 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. In a major development, the association has appointed RCB’s IPL 2025 winning skipper Rajat Patidar as new captain of the team.

Patidar will be replacing Shubham Sharma in the process, as the latter led the Madhya Pradesh team in the previous Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season earlier this year. Under Shubham’s leadership, Madhya Pradesh finished fifth on the eight-team Elite Group C points table.

IPL, Duleep Trophy wins likely compounds in MP captaincy for Rajat

Fresh from his IPL 2025 glory for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise as captain, Rajat Patidar has been reportedly appointed as Madhya Pradesh skipper for the upcoming 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, replacing Shubham Sharma in the process.

Notably, Patidar also recently led the Central Zone team to a dominant Duleep Trophy 2025 win in Bengaluru in September. In the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy season, newly-appointed Madhya Pradesh skipper Patidar will also be accompanied by ex-captain Shubham Sharma, as well as star attractions like Harsh Gawli, Kumar Kartikey, Saransh Jain among others. Here is a look at the entire Madhya Pradesh squad unveiled for the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, as reported by TOI’s Gaurav Gupta.
