'Putting Babar To Shame' - Trolls Mock Pakistan Batter As Sachin Tendulkar Hits Scintillating Drive

Even as Babar Azam exhibited signs of regaining his mojo with a third consecutive half-century in the T20I series against New Zealand, a section of fans continued to troll and throw nasty remarks at the Pakistani giant.

On Tuesday (January 16), as Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar returned to the nets and prepared for his comeback to the playing field, fans trolled Babar, stating the Indian maestro was putting the out-of-form Pakistani player to shame.

A fan entered the comments section of a viral clip of Tendulkar hitting the throwdowns on Twitter ahead of the charity-based 'One World One Family Cup 2024' in Bengaluru and took a dig at Babar, whose struggles during the World Cup 2023 and the Test series against Australia had attracted nasty trolling on social media.

Fan Takes Aim At Babar Off Tendulkar's Shoulders

Babar has been under heavy scrutiny since the beginning of the Asia Cup 2023 in late August when his returns nosedived drastically following a big hundred against associate rivals Nepal. The batter struggled against more challenging oppositions in the tournament and continued to swim below expectations during the World Cup that followed.

Expected to forge a prolific campaign, the elegant right-hander finished with an unsatisfying 320 runs at an average of 40 and strike-rate below 83 on flat batting surfaces in India. Babar failed to arrest Pakistan's slide and faced the flak for his team's painstaking pre-semifinal exit, following which he resigned as captain across formats.

Giving up the captaincy was expected to revive his best mojo. However, Babar failed to make a substantial contribution throughout the three-match Test series in Australia, ending his series with just 126 runs in six innings.

The T20Is versus New Zealand have been encouraging for the player as he now looks to revive his best form leading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
