  • Pujaras Concentration Level And Focus At The Crease Are One Of The Best Rizwan

Pujara's concentration level and focus at the crease are one of the best: Rizwan

It is a rarity in the cricketing world that one gets to see an Indian and a Pakistani player together on the same side. Playing for Sussex in the County Championship, Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammad Rizwan have enticed audiences. Rizwan, who has been a mainstay of Pakistan's batting, has only heaped praise on Pujara.

Speaking to Cricwick, Rizwan compared Pujara's patience and determination to the likes of Younis Khan and Fawad Alam. He stated, "But he is a very nice and loving guy. And his concentration and focus too. If you get a chance to learn something, you should do it. In terms of concentration levels and I told this to the coaches here too. The players with the most focus and concentration in my career are Younis bhai, Fawad Alam, and his [Pujara's]. Pujara is second on my list, and Fawad Alam on three in terms of pure concentration and focus. So I rate these three players very highly."

For Sussex, Pujara has thus far scored 717 runs in four matches, including two double hundreds and as many tons. Both Pujara and Rizwan were involved in a 150-run partnership against Durham last week, where the former ended up making 203, and the latter scored 79 runs.

Rizwan also spoke in detail about what advice Pujara gave after his low scores

Rizwan added, "And with Pujara, I had a chat with him after I got out early. He told me a few things, and one of them was to play close to the body. And as everyone knows, we have been playing white-ball cricket consistently over the past few years and playing a bit away from our bodies. In white-ball, you don't play very close to your body since the ball doesn't swing or seam as much."

Pujara is currently the second-highest scorer in the County Championship after Sean Dickson (729) and just ahead of Shan Masood (713).
