The Sri Lankan national selection committee on Wednesday (May 11) announced a 15-player squad for the women's team's upcoming limited-overs tour of Pakistan.
Champion batter Chamari Athapatththu will lead the 15-man squad of the island nation. The touring party will depart for Pakistan on May 19.
The tour will get underway with a three-match T20I series, which will take place at the National Stadium in Karachi between May 24-28.
The focus will then shift to the three One-day Internationals. In addition, the ODI series will be a part of the International Cricket Council's Women's ODI Championship (2022-2025), which will serve as a parameter for qualification for the next World Cup.
Sri Lanka will be desperate to claim valuable points from the three-match rubber, having missed out on qualification for the last World Cup, which took place in New Zealand earlier this year.
Pakistan, on the other hand, will be desperate for a fresh start after a disappointing World Cup campaign in the southern hemisphere.
The ODI series will get underway on June 1 and will culminate four days later. The ODIs will also take place in Karachi.
Sri Lanka have also added five additional players to their squad, which include Malsha Shehani, Tharika Sewwandi, Kawya Kavindi, Rashmi de Silva and Sathya Sandeepani.
