The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to resume from June 1 with the final scheduled to take place on June 20. The remaining matches of the tournament including the final will now be played only at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Earlier last month, the Pakistan Board had postponed the tournament in the wake of the rising number of novel Coronavirus cases in franchises. The PCB’s independent fact-finding committee had earlier confirmed that there was a bio-bubble breach during the tournament and the board had faced some heat after the league was postponed.
Hence, the team members, support staff and everyone who will return for the tournament will have to undergo a strict and mandatory seven-day quarantine in one hotel on May 22. The teams will be allowed to hold practice sessions three days before the tournament.
"Following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect. The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February," the statement on the PSL official website read.
