In what comes as a shocking piece of news, former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar survived a life-threatening car accident on Tuesday. Notably, Kumar's SUV collided with a trailer truck last night, but fortunately, the erstwhile cricketer went unhurt along with his son, who was also present inside the vehicle.

After surviving the accident, Kumar went on to express his gratitude for God and explained what exactly happened on that ill-fated night. He also stated that they could have sustained multiple injuries had the car not been an SUV.

Here's how Kumar reacted to the incident

"It could have been a lot worse. By the grace of god we are okay and I am talking to you. I had gone to drop my nephew but a massive truck hit my car from behind around 9:30pm. Thank God it was a big car, else there could have been injuries."

Kumar was an integral part of the Indian side during the late 2000s and early 2010s, playing a significant role with the new ball. In his brief five-year-long international career, the right-arm swing bowler featured in six Tests, 68 ODIs and ten T20Is, scalping 112 wickets across formats. Although he did his job quite nicely, the emergence of a better prospect like Bhuvneshwar Kumar put an end to his international career.
