In a dramatic third T20I match of the five-game series against Australia in Guwahati, Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna set an unfortunate record, contributing to India's five-wicket loss.

Prasidh Krishna set unwanted record in IND vs AUS 3rd T20I

Krishna recorded the poorest performance by an Indian bowler in T20I history, conceding a staggering 68 runs in his four-over spell without taking a single wicket. This surpassed the previous record held by Yuzvendra Chahal, who gave up 64 runs against South Africa in Centurion in 2018.

The match reached its climax in the final over, with Australia needing 16 runs from the last four balls. Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell seized the moment, hitting Krishna for a six followed by three consecutive fours, clinching the victory for Australia. This win keeps Australia's hopes alive in the series, with India still leading 2-1 but two matches remaining.

Earlier in the game, India, batting first, amassed an impressive 222/3 in 20 overs. This total was largely due to a remarkable inning from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 123 runs off 57 balls. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma also chipped in with useful cameos to bolster India’s total.

In their chase, Australia had a strong start but faced setbacks, being reduced to 128/4 after 13 overs. However, Maxwell, in a stellar performance, scored an unbeaten 104 off 48 deliveries, including eight fours and eight sixes, steering Australia to victory. He was well-supported by Wade's rapid contribution, which ultimately turned the game in Australia's favour and kept them alive in the series.
