In a significant development, India star pacer Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of Team A's first Duleep Trophy fixture.

The Duleep Trophy, set to commence on September 5, has assembled many prominent cricketers across the participating squads. Prasidh Krishna, a key player for Team A, was expected to contribute under the leadership of Shubman Gill.

According to Cricbuzz, the 28-year-old fast bowler is still recovering from an injury he sustained in February 2024.

This injury has kept him sidelined, and as a result, he will miss the opening game of the tournament. Prasidh's absence is a blow to Team A, and a replacement has not yet been announced.

Prasidh Krishna has been a valuable asset for India in limited-overs cricket. In 17 ODI matches, he has claimed 29 wickets with an economy rate of 5.60. Additionally, in 5 T20I appearances, he has taken 8 wickets at an average of 27.50.

His last international appearance was during India's tour of South Africa, where he managed to take one wicket in the second Test match at Cape Town.

Earlier this year, Prasidh sustained a left quadriceps injury during the Ranji Trophy while playing for Karnataka against Gujarat. As he continues his recovery, Team A will need to adjust their plans for the Duleep Trophy opener.
