Former India captain Anil Kumble shared a selfie with his wife Chethana Ramatheertha from the 'Lord Ram' temple in Ayodhya on Monday (January 22).

The spin legend, who was one of the special guests sent an invitation to attend the temple's 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony by the Indian government, reached the place and shared a selfie with his better half on Twitter.

"Pure Bliss and Blessed to be part of this divine occasion," the former cricketer captioned the image as he reached to attend the ritualistic process of infusing life into the deity's idol or image.

Kumble Reaches Ayodhya For 'Lord Ram' Temple Opening

Kumble was the fourth major Indian male cricketer to reach for the special occasion of 'Pran Pratishtha' after his ex teammate and legend Sachin Tendulkar as well as contemporary giants of the game - Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.

The occasion of 'Pran Pratishtha' has been a cause of anticipation and celebrations for all the believers and those inclined towards faith with the opening of the 'Lord Ram' temple being one of the current Indian government's longstanding promises.

Kumble became one of the big-name dignitaries to have attended the ceremony after being invited for the same by the authorities. The great leg-spinner, who is also the former India coach, will reunite during the ceremony with former skipper Kohli.

The 53-year-old, standing at the helm of affairs of Indian support staff between 2016-2017, had a premature exit from his post after his professional relationship with Kohli reached "untenable" proportions as stated by the spin legend himself at the point of his departure.

However, the two greats of Indian cricket carry no personal animosity between them as Kumble was invited by Kohli to attend the marriage reception with wife and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma in late 2017.
