PCB shares Imam-ul-Haq's special video ahead of his 50th ODI for Pakistan

The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies kickstarts on June 08, Wednesday, at the Multan Cricket Stadium. It will be a special occasion for the left-handed batter Imam-ul-Haq on Wednesday as he will be featuring in his 50th One Day International.

Notably, this will be the first time that the 26-year-old will be donning the green jersey in front of his home crowd in Multan. So far, Imam-ul-Haq has represented Pakistan in 49 ODIs scoring 2321 runs at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 82.5.

Apart from being a star Pakistan batter, Imam is also famous for being related to former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. Speaking about his 50th game, the left-hander reminisced the memories of his playing days.

"I have always seen my chachu (uncle (Inzamam-ul-Haq)) play here. So I am very excited to play my first match (for Pakistan) here. I have been born here, and even while coming from the bus, I was remembering how things were in my childhood. So It is a really nice moment for me, and I am looking forward to it," Imam said in a video uploaded on Pakistan Cricket Board's Twitter handle.

Further, the 26-year-old also expressed his gratitude to his fans and teammates for helping him achieve the special milestone. However, the batter's career has mainly been smeared with the controversy regarding his entry into the Pakistan cricket team. Imam has often been accused of being selected into the national team due to the influence of his uncle Inzamam.

"I would like to thank everyone and especially my teammates as I am going to play my 50th ODI. The game of cricket teaches you a lot of things. There were highs, lows, as well as criticism. But I have enjoyed it a lot, and my teammates have made me enjoy it even more," Imam-ul-Haq concluded.
