The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approached four cricket boards in order to schedule ODI series ahead of the 2023 World Cup, which will take place in India later this year. According to sources, the PCB has reached out to Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and South Africa, inviting them to visit Pakistan in August for either bilateral or Tri-Nation series to fine-tune their preparation for the ultimate challenge.

The email from the PCB to the aforementioned boards mentioned that these series would provide the visiting teams with a chance to adapt to the subcontinent conditions prior to the upcoming marquee event.

During a media briefing in Lahore on Saturday, Grant Bradburn, the head coach of Pakistan, shed light on the importance of arranging additional matches to ensure the Pakistan team's preparedness for the major tournament.

In another major turn of events, there’s a high possibility of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) accepting the hybrid model, proposed by Pakistan Cricket Board for co-hosting the Asia Cup 2023.

According to this model, the first four matches of the group stage in the primary phase of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. The subsequent phase, including matches involving India and the finals, will take place at a neutral venue, likely to be Sri Lanka.

The ACC is expected to issue an official announcement on Tuesday, and upon the formal acceptance of the hybrid model, it will clear the path for the Pakistan team's visit to India for the ODI World Cup.
