How Did These Players Perform

1.Rishabh Pant - Poor

Rishabh Pant, who is the most-expensive player in IPL history, had a poor start to the tournament as he registered a duck in his debut game for Lucknow Super Giants. LSG locked horns against DC, where Pant scored a six-ball duck, which is also his slowest duck in the history of the league. 

Further, Pant also had an off day as a keeper as he missed an important stumping in the last over of the match, that resulted in a defeat against the Capitals. 

2. Shreyas Iyer - Great

Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by PBKS for 26.75 crores, had a great week with the bat as PBKS captain nearly smashed a century on his captaincy debut. PBKS locked horns against Gujarat Titans, where Iyer was stranded on unbeaten 97 runs. His knock featured 5 fours and nine sixes.

3.Venkatesh Iyer - Poor

Venkatesh Iyer failed to justify his price tag as he couldn't score big against RCB in the opening match of IPL 2025. Iyer registered just 6 (7), which featured a solitary four. 

Further, Iyer didn't even get to roll his arms against RCB and it resulted in an embarrassing defeat against the Challengers . 

4. Arshdeep Singh - Average

Arshdeep Singh had an average performance for the Punjab Kings as he took 2 wickets in his four overs against Gujarat Titans and gave away 36 runs. Further, he bowled at an economy of 9.00, the best among Punjab Kings' bowlers. 

5.Yuzvendra Chahal - Poor

In a rare event, Chahal had an off-day as he went wicketless and neither was able to complete his quota of four overs against Gujarat Titans, a event that doesn't occur regularly. Chahal registered an embarrassing figures of 34/0 in his three overs.
