Amidst World Cup preparations, the Men In Green have been jolted by a massive roadblock as they experience a delay in obtaining their travel visas from the Indian government. As per the latest reports, the Pakistan Cricket team had originally planned to hold a two-day holiday camp in Dubai before flying to India for the World Cup event. But as it turns out, they had to abort their plans in the wake of unprecedented visa delays.

As reported by ESPNCricinfo, Pakistan will now fly to Dubai from Lahore and will later head to Hyderabad to play their warm-up fixture against New Zealand provided they get their visas on time.

While they remain the only team not to be granted a visa, the PCB officials remain hopeful that the Pakistan cricketers and support staff will get the required visa approvals from India before their departure for Hyderabad.

Visa delays are nothing uncommon for the 1992 World Cup champions. Furthermore, this issue also highlights the current political tension persisting between the two neighboring countries. Ever since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, travel has been very restricted between the two countries while the bilateral cricketing ties have deteriorated rapidly.

India have not traveled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup edition. While Pakistan on the other hand, have last visited India in the 2016 T20 World Cup edition.

Apart from left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz, who was a part of that squad, it will be the first trip to India for all the other members of Pakistan's 15-man World Cup squad.
