On Tuesday, the PCB confirmed Pakistan's Sri Lanka tour for a three-match T20I series. With Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium and the Pallekele international stadium undergoing renovation, all matches of the series will be played at the Ranagiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

The first T20I will be played on January 7, with the subsequent clashes taking place on the 9th and 11th of the month. As stated by the PCB, the three-match series against Sri Lanka is meant to provide the Pakistan players with ample game time ahead of the T20 World Cup.

"Pakistan men’s T20I squad will travel to Sri Lanka next month to feature in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. All three matches will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla on 7, 9 and 11 January. The tour will provide the side with valuable match practice ahead of next year’s global event," the PCB said in a press release.

Pakistan have showcased prolific form in T20I cricket of late. After registering a clinical 2-1 series victory over South Africa, the Men in Green comfortably outclassed Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, winning the T20I tri-series

They are placed in group-A alongside Namibia, the United States, the Netherlands and arch-rivals India and will begin their T20 World Cup campaign on February 7.
