India and Pakistan's witnessed a comical and unforgettable moment during the Champions Trophy match on February 23, 2025. A fan was caught on camera making a swift allegiance switch. As Pakistan struggled on the field, the fan, initially dressed in his team’s jersey, was seen cautiously slipping on an India jersey, drawing laughter and cheers from the crowd.  

Kohli’s Masterclass Seals India’s Win 

India’s bowlers laid the foundation for their dominant performance, restricting Pakistan to a modest 241. Kuldeep Yadav starred with three crucial wickets, while Hardik Pandya chipped in with two, ensuring Pakistan’s batters never gained momentum.  

India’s response with the bat was textbook execution. Shubman Gill and Kohli built a solid partnership, with Shreyas Iyer providing additional support, ensuring Pakistan never found a way back into the contest.  

However, the day belonged to Virat Kohli, as the star batter was exceptional with the bat, playing remarkable shots. He made a much-needed comeback and scored 100 runs off 111 balls, including 7 fours.

Pakistan’s Campaign in Jeopardy  

While Pakistan still holds a mathematical chance of reaching the semi-finals, their campaign looks all but over after a disappointing scenario for a team co-hosting the tournament.  The 'Men in Green' loss to India has left Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals in dire straits. 

However, their fate now depends on multiple results going in their favour. If New Zealand manages to beat Bangladesh, Pakistan will be knocked out. However, if Bangladesh and India manage to defeat the Kiwis, and Pakistan beats Bangladesh convincingly, they still have a slim chance of progressing.
