England bashed Pakistan by 63 runs in Karachi, and went 2-1 up in their seven-match series against the hosts. Harry Brook flayed the Pakistani bowlers through his 35-ball 81* and he formed a 139-run unbroken stand with partner Ben Duckett.

After the proceedings, Brook reflected on his match-winning performance and talked about the conditions on offer at the National Stadium. The cricketer also praised Duckett, who himself struck an imperial 70* off just 42 deliveries.

The Yorkshire-based batsman expressed his delight in putting up a match-winning performance for his side. England had sustained a 10-wicket hammering in the previous game, which allowed the ‘Men in Green’ to level the series.

The visitors now find themselves in the lead again, courtesy of Brook and Duckett’s first innings special as well as Mark Wood’s tight spell with the ball later in the match.

Brook, who was also adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’, said:

“It was very nice to have a match winning performance tonight. The conditions were quite similar throughout the night, just hitting through the line of the ball and sticking to our game plans. I was just trying to get Ben on strike against spin, he is ridiculous playing against them.”

Brook’s 35-ball knock was fuelled with eight boundaries and five towering sixes. The innings marked the maiden half-century for the youngster in his international career, one which launched earlier this year in West Indies.
