In the latest development, the City Traffic Police of Rawalpindi has rolled out a comprehensive traffic management and security plan ahead of the much-anticipated Test match between Pakistan and England at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The five-day match has sparked widespread preparations across the city, with authorities aiming to ensure smooth traffic flow and tight security for both the teams and spectators.
Special Security Measures Taken Ahead Of PAK Vs ENG
According to the reports of Cricket Pakistan, CTO Beenish Fatima announced on Tuesday (October 22) that 370 traffic police personnel will be deployed across key locations to maintain order during the event.
The deployment includes eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 40 inspectors, and 318 wardens, all of whom will be focused on managing the high-traffic areas surrounding the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In an effort to facilitate the movement of cricket teams and fans, additional traffic personnel will be stationed to monitor and guide vehicles on alternate routes. Murree Road, a major thoroughfare, will be completely closed from Faizabad to Double Road during the arrival and departure of the teams.
To mitigate traffic congestion, vehicles heading from Islamabad to Rawalpindi will be redirected from Faizabad to the Expressway, while those entering Islamabad from Rawalpindi will be rerouted through Saidpur Road via 6th Road. Additionally, traffic coming from Ghousia Chowk will be diverted to Kurry Road via Farooq Azam Road. The Stadium Road from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road Turn will also remain closed throughout the match.
