Former Punjab Kings (PBKS) cricketer Shivam Sharma has crowned Hardik Pandya as his favorite Indian Premier League (IPL) captain, setting aside legendary names like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. 

Despite facing initial criticism after taking over the Mumbai Indians (MI) captaincy from Rohit Sharma, Hardik's crucial last-over bowling during the T20 World Cup triumph have won over fans and experts alike.

Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni have been the most successful captains in IPL history, with five titles each. However, neither of them led their teams in the IPL 2024 season. 

Hardik was appointed as the MI captain before the season began, while Dhoni handed over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shivam Sharma names his favourite IPL captain

Shivam Sharma, during a Q&A session with fans on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), was asked about his favorite IPL team and captain. 

While he named the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his favorite team, it was Hardik Pandya who stood out as his favorite captain, excluding the big three—Rohit, Dhoni, and Kohli.

Shivam's endorsement of Hardik Pandya highlights the growing recognition of the all-rounder's leadership qualities, especially in the wake of his successful captaincy stint with MI and his heroics in the international arena.
