Pakistan are looking down the barrel as a host nation in the Champions Trophy 2025. They are two games down in the tournament and failed to win any of them. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side will play a dead rubber contest at Rawalpindi.
As it stands, there are predictions for rain in Rawalpindi in Pakistan's final group-stage match. If rain washes out or forces abandonment of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh match, the hosts will take an early exit from the tournament.

In the ODI World Cup of 2007, Pakistan managed to win only match in the group stage. West Indies defeated them in their opening fixture, which put them on the spot ahead of the second game.
Much to the surprise of the cricketing fraternity, Ireland defeated the Inzamam-ul-Haq-led side in Pakistan's second group match, which sealed the fate for them. Even though Pakistan won their last match against Zimbabwe, it was not enough to take them past the group stage.

In the Champions Trophy 2006, Pakistan made a good start by winning their first game against Sri Lanka by four wickets. The win strengthened Pakistan's chances of making it to the next round.
However, the Younis Khan-led side lost their next two matches against New Zealand and South Africa. This spelt disaster for the Asian Giants as they had to bow out of the tournament from the group fixture.

Pakistan have a chance of finishing the Champions Trophy 2025 without a single win under their belt. If they do so, it will not be the first time this has happened in their history of the tournament.
In 2013, Pakistan had West Indies, South Africa and India in their group. The Misbah-ul-Haq-led side lost all their three games in the league stages and walked out as the last team in Group B.
