On June 3, the West Indies Cricket Board announced their squad for two upcoming T20 series, three matches against England from June 6 to 10, followed by another three matches against Ireland from June 12 to 15. Two experienced all-rounders, Andre Russell and Jason Holder, have been recalled to the team.

Andre Russell is making his return after being injured during the first game of last year’s T20I series against England in Barbados. He will only be available for the England leg of this tour.

Jason Holder is also back in the T20 squad for the first time since February 2024. Their return adds strength and experience to a team that will now be led by newly appointed T20 captain, Shai Hope.

Nicholas Pooran, one of the team’s key players, has requested a break from both series following his participation in the IPL earlier this year. As a result, he will not be part of the squad for either the England or Ireland games.

Meanwhile, Roston Chase will play only in the England T20 series. After that, he will leave the squad to join the Test team camp in Barbados from June 13 to 21. This is in preparation for the much-anticipated three-match Test series against Australia. Brandon King, another key player, will also miss the Ireland series due to personal leave.

To fill the gaps, the selectors have brought in Jyd Goolie and Keacy Carty. Goolie, who recently stood out in the inaugural West Indies Breakout League and was part of the 2016 Under-19 World Cup team, has earned his first senior team call-up as Chase’s replacement. Meanwhile, Keacy Carty will step in for Brandon King.
