In the latest development, Pakistan have revealed their Test squad for the West Indies series, scheduled to be played in Multan from 17-21 January and 25-29 January. The squad has seen seven changes compared to the team that recently toured South Africa. Some key players have been rested as part of workload management, including star pacers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi. The selectors have opted to make adjustments to keep players fresh for future matches.

Meanwhile, The Men In Green have brought back experienced off-spinner Sajid Khan and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed to support left-arm spinner Noman Ali. These changes aim to boost Pakistan’s spin options for the series.

Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Huraira Return

Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Huraira have been recalled to replace the injured Saim Ayub and the struggling Abdullah Shafique, who couldn’t deliver consistent performances.

In a surprising move, Pakistan have rested key fast bowlers Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Aamir Jamal, and Mir Hamza. Instead, the team has included Khurram Shahzad, recalled Mohammad Ali, and given a chance to uncapped pacer Kashif Ali.

With wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan ruled out due to a hand injury, former U19 captain Rohail Nazir has been added to the squad to fill the gap.

Pakistan Squad For The West Indies Tests:

Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Kashif Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper/batter), Noman Ali, Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper/batter), Sajid Khan, and Salman Ali Agha.
