Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has stirred the pot by revealing his top four picks for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals, omitting traditional powerhouses India and Pakistan.

Vaughan, speaking on 'X' platform, endorsed defending champions England, perennial favourites Australia, hosts West Indies, and South Africa led by Aiden Markram as his semi-finalist choices, which left fans surprised and sparking debates among cricket fans worldwide.

With Pakistan reaching the finals of the last two editions and India making it to the semis in 2022, Vaughan's exclusion of these cricketing giants has raised eyebrows. However, Vaughan's confidence in his chosen four reflects the unpredictability and excitement surrounding the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Scheduled to kick off on June 1 and conclude on June 29, the T20 World Cup promises a spectacle of cricketing prowess, co-hosted by the USA and West Indies. Teams have begun finalizing their lineups, with India, South Africa, England, Australia, and Afghanistan assembling squads blending experience with youth.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a robust squad for the tournament, led by Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as his deputy. Teams have until May 25 to make squad changes, offering a window for adjustments before the competition heats up.
