In a significant development, the first list of overseas players who will be up for grabs in the upcoming Big Bash League draft has been revealed. The list of ten players contains four players from Pakistan, with the South Asian nation contributing the most number of cricketers to the draft.

Shaheen, Shadab, Rizwan's Presence Major Highlight In BBL Draft

Earlier today, Cricket Australia revealed the first overseas players' list for the upcoming draft process ahead of the Big Bash League season. While stylish batter Babar Azam couldn't find a place, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf have been included in the list.

Six other players shortlisted in the first overseas players' list are England's Sam Curran and Alex Hales, New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee, Sri Lanka's Kusal Perera and West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph.

A report from ESPNCricinfo states that although Brisbane Heat have the first draft pick, they might not show interest in Shaheen, having already secured the services of left-arm seamer Spencer Johnson.

In such a scenario, as the report claims, the Pakistan pacer might grab the attention of Adelaide Strikers, who have the right to choose the second player during the draft process.

Meanwhile, the WBBL draft comprises several impactful match-winners, namely Shikha Pandey, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deandra Dottin, Fatima Sana, Lauren Bell, Sophie Ecclestone, Heather Knight, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, Shabnim Ismail and Chloe Tryon.

The BBL draft is all set to be conducted on June 19. Brisbane Heat have the first pick in the men's draft followed by Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Sixers, Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder. Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers will get to choose the first player in the WBBL draft.
