My stint with RCB helped me identify my positives and negatives: Anuj Rawat

The young keeper-batter Anuj Rawat has admitted to being massively benefitted from his stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Speaking to ANI, Rawat stressed that he didn't get enough opportunities to play in the IPL during his stint with the Rajasthan Royals, but RCB trusted in his abilities and picked him in their first-choice playing XI, which helped him immensely in knowing his own strengths and weaknesses.

The stylish southpaw stated that he is well aware of the loopholes in his batting, which he needs to resolve in a quick time.

"Before Royal Challengers Bangalore, I was a part of Rajasthan Royals but I didn't get chances there. But while playing for RCB, I got to know my positive side as well as my negatives. I know my negatives now, where I need to work on," Rawat said.

Rawat, who hails from the same cricket academy as of Virat Kohli, seemed to be an ardent admirer of the legendary Indian batter. The 22-year-old was revealed to be extremely influenced by the inspirational journey of Kohli and considered it a privilege to share the dressing room with the former Indian captain.

The Uttarakhand-born addressed the likes of Faf Du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik as legends and admitted to having learnt a lot of things from them.

"These are the legends of the game", Rawat said. "I am from the same academy as Virat Kohli. I know his journey. I have seen him when he was playing in under-19 and where he is now and talking about Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik as well; I have learnt a lot of things from them," the youngster concluded.

Despite getting frequent chances, Rawat blew hot and cold in the mega event and managed to score just 129 runs from eight innings at a mediocre average of 16.13 and a substandard strike rate of 109.32.
