Mumbai Sign Chris Jordan for Remainder of IPL 2023; Jofra Archer Ruled Out?

In major developments, the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians have signed England's T20 specialist bowler Chris Jordan to strengthen their squad in a season which is turning out to be a topsy-turvy for the five-time IPL champions.
It has been reported by various media houses that the T20 World Cup-winning Englishman has replaced Jofra Archer, who has apparently flown to Belgium because of discomfort in his right elbow. However, Archer is still in the Mumbai camp and recently asked the Indian media to respect cricketers struggling with injuries.
It is understood that Jordan has already joined the MI squad, but whether he will play in Sunday's clash against Rajasthan is still not certain.
Meanwhile, England's death-over specialist could fit in Mumbai's missing jigsaw as Rohit Sharma & co. are struggling in the death phase, and a bowler like Jordan can be the ideal solution for them.
Earlier, the 34-year-old has represented Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Punjab in the IPL, playing 28 matches in the league to scalp 27 wickets at an economy rate of 9.32. And, overall, he has played 300-plus T20 matches.
After getting a beating from Gujarat at Ahmedabad, Mumbai will welcome RR at Wakhede on Sunday in IPL's 1000 fixture.
