Legendary Indian keeper-batter MS Dhoni is set to etch his name in history books, as he will play his 400th match in the T20 format. Hailed for his extraordinary leadership and finishing skills, Dhoni will attain the phenomenal feat by featuring in tonight's CSK vs SRH IPL 2025 clash.

MS Dhoni Plays 400th T20 Match As CSK Take On SRH

This evening, CSK will lock horns with SRH in match 43 of the IPL 2025 season. This will be MS Dhoni's 400th appearance in the T20 format. However, it's worth mentioning that the talismanic cricketer isn't the first Indian to enter the 400-match club.

The veteran player will lead CSK in this match after being named as the stand-in skipper following Ruturaj Gaikwad's unfortunate injury setback.

In fact, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik have played more T20 matches than MS Dhoni. Statistically, the 43-year-old cricketer is the 25th player to play 400 or more games in the shortest format.

As MS Dhoni's 400th T20 appearance continues to grab the limelight, here are the players with the most number of matches in the format.

Onus On MS Dhoni To Change CSK's IPL 2025 Fortunes

CSK have had a torrid run in the IPL 2025, losing six out of their initial eight matches. From Gaikwad's injury to the horrendous forms of Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, R Ashwin and Matheesha Pathirana, everything has gone against CSK's favour so far.

However, with MS Dhoni, their most successful skipper, at the helm, the fans are still hopeful of a turnaround in the tournament. Tonight's affair against SRH is a must-win game for the Super Kings, as another loss would lead them to a group-stage exit from the competition.
