Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir picked up two wickets in his latest CPL 2024 appearance for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Picking up exceptional four-over figures of 2-15 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, the 32-year-old scaled a major landmark in T20 cricket among bowlers.

Unfortunately for Amir, the Falcons lost the match by 27 runs, concluding their CPL 2024 league set of fixtures on a timid note.

Mohammad Amir joins elite T20 list

Turning up for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, Mohammad Amir picked up two key wickets to claim figures of 2-15. Amir’s spell also helped him scale the 350-wicket landmark in T20 cricket, achieving the feat in his 305th appearance.

In doing so, the 32-year-old paceman became only the third Pakistani fast bowler after Wahab Riaz (413 wickets) and Sohail Tanvir (389 wickets) to pick up 350 or more wickets in T20s. Overall, Mohammad Amir also became one of only 15 players in T20 history to breach the landmark figure, joining the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Rashid Khan, Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Jordan, Imran Tahir, Andre Russell among others.

Amir currently sits on an illustrious pile of 350 wickets from 298 innings spanning 305 matches at an impressive bowling average of 22.58. The left-arm speedster picked up 71 of those wickets in T20 internationals for Pakistan, at an even better average of 21.94. Moreover, he collected eight of those wickets while playing for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons franchise this CPL 2024 season.

Dwayne Bravo and Rashid Khan continue to remain the leading wicket-takers in the history of T20 cricket by a landslide, considering both cricketers have picked up over 600 wickets each. Premier spinners Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir and Shakib Al Hasan occupy the next three slots to constitute five most successful bowlers of the format.

At the age of 32, Mohammad Amir will likely add many more wickets to his tally owing to his prominent presence in global T20 franchise leagues.
