South Africa, heading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, are going up against India in India, which is never an easy ask. The Proteas were outplayed by Team India at Thiruvananthapuram, while the Guwahati T20I saw David Miller and Quinton de Kock put up a fight, shortening the side's loss to just 16 runs.

The Temba Bavuma-led XI will look to play for pride in the final and third T20I at Indore on Tuesday and deny India a series clean sweep.

Miller (2,009) is South Africa's leading T20I run-scorer ahead of de Kock (1,964), JP Duminy (1,934), AB de Villiers(1,672), and Faf du Plessis (1,466), who discarded any concerns over his team's preparation ahead of the 20-overs marquee event Down Under.

As quoted by The Hindu, Miller gave the example of Australia, who lifted the T20 World Cup in the last edition, despite a poor run leading into the competition in the UAE.

"There're a lot of stories in the past with one being Australia not doing too well before the World Cup, and then they end up winning the World Cup. So I don't think it's too much to worry about."

South Africa are placed in Super 12 Group 2 alongside India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and two qualifying teams from round 1. They play their first match on October 24.
