After a narrow defeat against New Zealand in the first game, South Africa are eyeing a comeback in the second against England. With a do-or-die situation in front of them, Proteas women will look to make most of the opportunity to progress to the next stage of Commonwealth Games.

Meanwhile, South African batter Mignon Du Preez who recently retired from ODI and Test cricket has expressed confidence in her team, affirming they would rightly enforce their plans. She also mentioned that they played well against the English side in the recently concluded T20I series, where they lost 3-nil, although the results didn't come their way.

What Mignon Du Preez said about her side

"We've got the plans in place, our execution hasn't been on point just yet, so if we actually just execute our plans, we would definitely set ourselves up for a good win.

"It is small margins in T20 cricket; it is one or two overs, or one partnership that really takes the game away. I don't think we were that far off (in the past against England), we played good cricket for most part of the game but then one or two overs let us down.

"For us, the biggest thing would be to keep on focusing on what we can do and not spend too much energy on the opposition, and if we execute our plans, we would put ourselves in a position to win some games."

Du Preez key to Proteas' chances

With the qualification chances for South Africa riding on a thin piece of thread, they are required to win both their remaining matches against England and Sri Lanka. The 33-year-old scored 26 in the previous game and will look to ensure she plays a crucial knock in the next match to take her side home.
