Washington Sundar likely to make Royal London Cup debut for Lancashire

India all-rounder Washington Sundar is one of the 14 men who could feature in the opening day clash of Lancashire against Essex Eagles. Interestingly, if Sundar does make the XI for tomorrow's fixture, it would be his Royal London Cup debut.

Notably, the off-spinner recently made his County cricket debut for Lancashire in the match versus Northamptonshire that saw him claiming a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

Much to Lancashire's aid, Sundar's fifer restricted the Northants to 235 runs. While the 22-year-old did not play a great role with the ball in the second innings, his unbeaten 34-run knock ensured Lancashire a four-wicket win.

Apart from Sundar, Will Williams is another player who could be making his List A debut for the Red Rose.

Lancashire's squad for clash against Essex

As the Tamil Nadu-born has recently recovered from an injury, his stint in the English domestic circuit prepares him for the International challenge.

Sundar last played for India in February, but seemed to have retained full fitness as he has been included in the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series versus Zimbabwe.

As India continues to juggle between him and Ravichandran Ashwin, the former's 100 per cent fitness could guarantee him a ticket to Australia for the nearing T20 World Cup.
