Mark Wood Trains Hard Before LSG vs RCB; Speedster to Play in Lucknow

In the latest development, it has been understood that Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are keen to play their fastest bowler Mark Wood in the upcoming clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Lucknow on Monday.

According to OneCricket's sources, the speedster was training hard in the nets before the much-awaited clash. Wood has been missing from LSG's Starting XI for the last three games, and his inclusion would mean that the pitch won't be a spinning one but a true deck, just like the one which Super Giants used against Delhi when the English snored a five-wicket haul.

If the KL Rahul-led unit decides to play Wood, they will drop Afghanistan seamer Naveen-ul-Haq, who has been doing exceptionally well for them. This season, the jigsaw of four foreign players has been a headache for the LSG management, as Quinton de Kock is yet to get his due opportunity.

Thus far in IPL 2023, the 32-year-old pacer has been one of the most successful Lucknow bowlers, snapping 11 wickets from his four outings. However, he hasn't been playing much to manage his workload.

Meanwhile, Wood will soon be flying back home for the birth of his second child.
