England's cricket team has made a pivotal change for the upcoming third Test against India in Rajkot, with Mark Wood set to make a comeback, replacing Shoaib Bashir. This alteration is expected to inject fresh energy into the squad as they gear up for the crucial match starting on Thursday, February 15th.

The decision comes as England aim to bounce back from their recent performance, bolstered by the return of Wood, known for his pace and ability to trouble the Indian batters.

The 34-year-old pacer, who was sidelined after the first Test, now gets another opportunity following James Anderson's stint in the second Test. While his previous performance might have been underwhelming, Wood brings pace and aggression to the bowling attack, a factor England might leverage in the upcoming match.

Historically, the conditions at Rajkot have favored the seamers early on, but the Indian camp has mentioned various aspects suggesting that Rajkot could be a rank turner, which could work against England.
