Oval Invincibles Women took home the Hundred Women’s 2022 trophy as they defeated Southern Brave Women by five wickets. It was an all-round performance by Invincibles Women as they were calm and composed both with the bat and ball. Meanwhile, it was all-rounder Marizanne Kapp who took the Player of the Match award home.

The 32-year-old played a starring role as she picked a solitary wicket of Amanda Wellington in the first innings. Southern Brave Women posted a total of 101 runs in 100 balls. Chasing the total, Oval Invincibles looked in trouble early in the match. The team lost both their opening batters, Winfield Hill and Suzie Bates at scores of five and three.

This was when Kapp stepped up to produce a match-defining inning. The all-rounder smacked 37 runs off 33 balls with the help of five boundaries. She remained on the pitch till the very end to ensure that her team wins the game in 94 balls. While the skipper Bates was all praises for Kapp, the all-rounder hailed Emily Windsor for her knock in the end.

“I was really nervous at the end but the credit goes to Windsor for a good knock at the end. I have literally just been praying for every single delivery. I absolutely love the tournament and the crowd has been amazing. Thank you guys for coming out and supporting the Women's cricket."
