2022 has been a good year for Indian Women: Smriti Mandhana

The Indian Women's team is set to clash against England Women in a three-match T20I and One-Day International (ODI) series starting in September. The Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur is coming off an incredible Commonwealth Games 2022 after narrowly missing out on a gold medal, losing to eventual winner Australia in the final.

Ahead of the white-ball series against England, opener Smriti Mandhana spoke about how good 2022 has been for women's cricket and how the team looks forward to continuing their winning ways.

She is currently playing in The Hundred Women's for Southern Brave.

“The year 2022 has been good for the women's cricket team, and we are expecting to continue this momentum with the upcoming India tour of England. We are elated after winning the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games, we will look to replicating our success in the upcoming series as well," - Mandhana said in an official release

This tour will also be the last outing for India's veteran fast-bowler Jhulan Goswami, who will take retirement after the ODI series.

For England, regular skipper Heather Knight, who is undergoing rehabilitation, is also ruled out.

The T20Is will be played on September 10, 13, and 15, while the ODIs, which are a part of the ICC Women's Championship will take place on 18, 21, and 24.
