Batting collapses, often sudden and inexplicable, have produced some of the lowest team totals and the most lopsided encounters in cricket’s storied history. Even in high-stakes ICC events like the Champions Trophy, such dramatic downfalls occasionally unfold, leaving teams reeling and spectators stunned.
Celebrating the return of ICC Champions Trophy through the ongoing 2025 edition, here is a look at five of the lowest team totals ever recorded in the history of the tournament.

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy launched on February 19 with a high-octane match between New Zealand and tournament co-hosts Pakistan. In an anti-climactic finish, Pakistan slipped and fell to a huge 60-run defeat at the National Stadium in Karachi after Will Young and Tom Latham plundered majestic centuries earlier in the game.
The following day at the Dubai International Stadium, Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana as well as senior spinner Axar Patel ran through Bangladesh’s top order with relative ease.
The ongoing 2025 ICC Champions Trophy marks the ninth edition of the tournament, as it made its return back to ICC lore after a gap of eight years.
