A viral moment during the recently concluded Boxing Day Test has sparked a unique road safety campaign by the Kerala Police.  Virat Kohli’s on-field shoulder bump with Australia’s debutant Sam Konstas has garnered widespread attention, but it’s the clever twist put on the footage by the Kerala Police that has captured even more interest.

The moment, which saw Kohli walk toward Konstas and inadvertently collide with him, was immediately picked up by fans. The shoulder bump incident was used by Kerala Police as an opportunity to turn the incident into a message for public awareness.

Using the viral video, the police department posted a modified version with text overlays that delivered a clear road safety message: “It’s okay to be ‘King’. Follow traffic rules. While keeping yourself safe, keep others safe too.”

The edited video shows Kohli walking towards Konstas, with the two players labeled as 'Vehicle coming on the wrong side' and 'Coming from the right side,' respectively. As the shoulder bump occurs, a new message appears on the screen: 'Stay in your lane.'

The video quickly gained attention on social media, with users applauding the Kerala Police for their creative approach to spreading road safety awareness.

Sam Konstas Opens Up On 'Shoulder-Bump' Incident

This incident, which occurred on the Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test, saw Virat Kohli walk up to the 19-year-old Australian cricketer Konstas; it resulted in a harmless but noticeable shoulder bump. After the incident, Sam Konstas expressed himself and commented on his mindset.

“I think emotions got to both of us. I didn't realise. I was just doing my gloves when I got the little shoulder charge but it happens in cricket,” Kontas later told Channel 7 in an interview.
