India is a country with truckloads of talent in cricket and over the years the success of the team has turned the nation into a cricket fanatic one. The cricketers are no less than celebrities in India, and everything they do, becomes a news. However, with lot of cricket nowadays, international cricketers hardly play domestic cricket, and it has been a talking point for a long time.

However, after a change of policy by BCCI, many star Indian players are back for their state team, playing in Ranji Trophy and it is generating lot of interest. Also, Champions Trophy is around the corner, and many of the players who are plying their trade in Ranji Trophy will also be part of that marquee tournament.

A good performance will help them gain confidence ahead of the ODI series against England and Champions Trophy. So, let's look at the top three cricketers who are currently playing Ranji Trophy and are also part of India's Champions Trophy squad.

3. Kuldeep Yadav

The left-arm wrist spinner did not play the Australian series due to an injury, but he is fit now, and has been selected in the ODI series and Champions Trophy Squad. He is a key bowler for India in the ODI format and has the ability to run through the batting line-ups when he is on song.

The star spinner is now playing for Uttar Pradesh against Madhya Pradesh to get some much-needed practice ahead of international cricket and it will also help him gauge his fitness. It will also help him try out some different things with the ball and could help him grow as a red-ball bowler and make a claim for a spot in the next Test series.

2. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is another star cricketer who is back in the domestic arena and is playing for Karnataka against Haryana. He was one of the shining lights for India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and displayed lot of application at the top of the order. However, he could have done better with the way he started the series, but his form faded out later.

He is now been selected in the Champions Trophy squad and would be a key player at number 5 or India. Some runs under his belt would help him ahead of the ODI series, but he failed on the opening day, getting out for 26 at number 3. Rahul would be hoping to do well in the second outing and his presence also helped the Ranji game garner lot of crowd at Chinnaswamy.

1. Virat Kohli

The biggest star of Indian cricket and arguably the world cricket, Virat Kohli is also back in Ranji Trophy after 2012. It has created an insane excitement around the fans and they flocked the stadium to watch their favourite star in great numbers. He is an important member of India's Champions Trophy squad and the country needs him to be at his best in that tournament.

So, this Ranji game will be crucial for him to gain some confidence after indifferent performances in Australia. Also, a good performance will shed away some of the doubt that has crept in regarding his Test future, and all eyes would be on his performance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
