India's stand-in Test skipper, KL Rahul was struck on his hand on the eve of the second Test match against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

Rahul was receiving throwdowns from the batting coach when he copped a blow on the hand and received medical treatment.

Speaking ahead of the second Test, Vikram Rathour has provided an update on the injury. Although the injury isn't serious, but there's some doubt regarding his participation in the final game of the series.

"It doesn't look serious. He seems to be fine. The doctors are looking after him and hopefully he'll be fine," Rathour said in the pre-match press conference.

Rahul is the latest inductee in the long list of injury concerns for the Indian side.

Regular skipper Rohit Sharma has already been ruled out of the final Test match due to an injury he sustained in the ODI series. Rohit suffered from a thumb injury and still hasn't recovered from it.

Moreover, pace bowler Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out of the Dhaka Test due to a muscle sprain.

If KL Rahul fails to recover on time, the vice-captain for this series, Cheteshwar Pujara could be given the captaincy duties.
