Our not-so-beloved friend, RAIN has made an unwanted entry into the KKR vs GT game at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The toss happened at the right time - 3 PM IST with dark clouds hovering around but soon the covers came on as rain made its presence felt.
It did not last long though and after some inspection and observation, the on-field umpires have decided to start the game at 4:15 PM IST. 45 minutes later than the scheduled time but the good news is that we will have a full game of 40 overs with no overs lost. GT have won the toss and have elected to bowl first.
Talking about the composition of both teams, the big news is that Shubman Gill is included in the Impact Players list for this game. Also, there is bad news for the home team, KKR as Roy is out with a back spasm. Rahmanullah Gurbaz makes his way back into the XI in place of him and he would be looking to make a big impact in this game.
This is a crucial game for KKR, who are in 7th place in the points table and have won only 3 out of the 8 games played so far. They need to win this home fixture to strengthen their position, while a win for GT will take them to the top of the table.
